Below are some of my favorite recipes- go ahead and use them if you like.

Challah Braid

Ingredients:

Ingredients             Regular         Large           Ex.Large
1 egg + enough water
 to equal:              3/4 cup         1 cup + 1 tbl.  (2 eggs) 1 1/2 cups
bread flour             2 cups          3 1/4 cups      4 1/2 cups
salt                    1 tsp           1 1/2 tsp       2 tsp
sugar                   1 1/2 tbl.      2 tbl.          2 tbl.
butter                  2 tbl.          3 tbl.          1/4 cup
yeast                   1 tsp           1 1/2 tsp.      2 tsp.

Wash:
Egg yolk, beaten        1               1               2
Water                   1 tbl.          1 tbl.          2 tbl.

Topping:
Poppy seeds             1 tsp.          1 tbl.          1 1/2 tbl.

Instructions:
Place dough ingredients in pot in order listed. Use dough setting. When dough is complete, remove dough from pot. Place on a lightly floured surface and punch down. Divide into thirds, making 3 10/13/16 inch ropes with tapered ends. Pinch ropes together at one end, braid together, pinching together at the other end and secure braid. Transfer to greased baking sheet; let rise* until doubled in size, about 45 minutes. Combine wash ingredients and brush onto braid. Sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven for 25 minutes or until golden brown.

Big Dutch Babies

Ingredients:

Instructions:
Select the recipe proportions to fit your pan. Put butter in pan and set into oven, then preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix batter quickly while butter melts. Put eggs in blender and whirl at high speed for 1 minute. With motor running, gradually pour in milk, then slowly add flour; continue whirling for 30 seconds. Remove pan from oven and pour batter into hot melted butter. Return to oven and bake until pretty well browned- 20 to 25 minutes, depending on the pan. Dust with nutmeg if you wish and serve w/ toppings(powdered sugar and/or pancake syrup). These sizes make 3 to 6 servings.

Oven Fried Chicken

Ingredients:
1 cut up chicken
1 1/2 cups breadcrumbs (unseasoned)
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 tbl. paprika
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. onion powder
2 eggs

Instructions:
Mix flour, bread crumbs and spices together in medium sized paper or plastic bag. Dip chicken pieces in egg then shake two or three pieces at a time in bag. Put coated chicken skin side down in greased pan. Bake chicken at 400 for thirty minutes, then turn over, reduce heat to 350, and continue baking for another 20-30 minutes. Serve with mashed potatoes and gravy (if desired).

Sesame Chicken Breast

Ingredients:
2 large chicken breasts
About 1/2 cup sesame oil
1 cup sesame seeds
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
1 tsp. minced garlic
2 tbl. soy sauce

Instructions:
Brush 2 lightly pounded large split chicken breasts with Oriental sesame oil and dredge in 1 cup sesame seeds seasoned with salt, pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Cook in 1/4 cup Oriental sesame oil over moderate heat until firm. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic and deglaze pan with 2 tablespoons light soy sauce.

Italian Herb Chicken

Ingredients:
Grill Creations Marinade Mix for Chicken - Italian Herb
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup olive oil (or vegetable if you prefer)
2 tbl. white vinegar (cider or wine if you prefer)
2-4 lbs. chicken pieces

Instructions:
Follow the instructions on the back of the package (note, this is a mix- I just list it here so you know to buy it, because it makes excellent Italian Herb Chicken).

Pepper Lime Chicken

Ingredients
2-2 1/2 lbs. chicken (or turkey if you prefer)
1/2 tsp. shredded lime peel
1/4 cup lime juice
1 tbl. vegetable oil
2 cloves minced garlic
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. thyme or basil (or 1/2 tsp. each)
1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions:
Rinse chicken; pat dry. Place chicken pieces, skin side down, on the unheated rack of a broiler pan. Broil 4 to 5 inches from the heat about 20 minutes or till lightly browned. Meanwhile, for lime glaze, in a bowl stir together lime peel, lime juice, oil, garlic, black pepper, thyme or basil, and salt. Brush chicken with lime glaze. Turn chicken; brush with more glaze. Broil for 5 to 15 minutes more or till tender and no longer pink, brushing often with glaze during the last 5 minutes of cooking. (Note- you can stir fry instead, gradually adding the glaze while cooking)

Shrimp Scampi

Ingredients
1 lb. medium shrimp (without the shells)
2 tbl. chopped parsley (optional)
6 cloves crushed garlic
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbl. lemon juice
1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick)
1 tsp. grated lemon peel

Instructions:
Melt butter in 9 by 13 inch baking dish by putting it in oven while preheating oven to 350 degrees. Shell and wash shrimp. Add 1tbsp. parsley, garlic and salt in dish. Spread shrimp in single layer in dish and cook for 8 minutes. Remove dish and turn shrimp over. Add rest of parsley, lemon juice, and lemon peel. Cook for 5 more minutes or until tender and serve.

Chocolate Chip Mandel Bread

Ingredients
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 cup butter or margarine (2 sticks)
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
4 cups flour
2 cups chocolate chips
Cinnamon

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix sugar, butter, and eggs well. Add vanilla, baking powder, flour, and chocolate chips. Mix well. Spread by hand on cookie sheet in three lines of dough (lengthwise). Sprinkle cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees about 20 to 25 minutes. Slice immediately and put back into oven to toast (5 min.).

Chocolate Brownie Dominoes

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter or margarine (1/2 stick) 1/2 cup sugar 2 eggs 3/4 cup chocolate-flavored syrup 2/3 cup all-purpose flour Butter Frosting or canned vanilla frosting

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8 by 8 by 2 inch baking pan with a little shortening. In a small mixer bowl beat butter or margarine with electric mixer on medium speed till softened (about 30 seconds). Add sugar and beat till fluffy. Add eggs. beat well. Add chocolate-flavored syrup and flour. Beat till well mixed. Spread the batter in the greased baking pan. Bake in the 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or till a toothpick inserted near center comes out clean. Let cool in pan on cooling rack. When cool, spread w/ Butter Frosting or canned vanilla frosting. Cut into 24 rectangular bars. To make them look like dominoes, draw a line across each bar w/ a toothpick to make 2 squares, then give dominoes dots by putting up to 6 tiny chocolate chips, point down, in each square. Makes 24 bars.

Old Fashioned Sugar Cookies (Shortcakes w/ Strawberries)

Ingredients
1/2 cup butter or margarine (1 stick)
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. grated lemon peel
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups flour
2 tbl. milk

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Thoroughly cream margarine and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Add vanilla and grated lemon rind. Sift the remaining ingredients together and add alternately with milk. Mix well. Roll 1/8 inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with floured cookie cutter. (For cookies: you can decorate if you wish). (For shortcakes: cut in the shape of circles with the top of a mug and place on the bottom of a well greased muffin pan.) Bake in 350 degree oven 6 to 8 minutes (watch to see if ready). For shortcakes: put strawberries in the shortcake cups when done and serve.

Poppy Seed Cake

Ingredients
1 yellow cake mix
3 3/4 oz. vanilla pudding mix
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup sherry
1/3 cup poppy seeds

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients (a very thick batter). Pour into a well greased bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes to 1 hour (test w/ knife blade near center). (cooking time varies)
